Abstract

A small continuous furnace for the pre‐heating of non‐ferrous billets and slugs suitable for delivering to a press has been developed by Royee Electric Furnaces Ltd., Albert Drive, Sheerwater, Woking, Surrey. The furnace has accommodation for three rows of billets, which may be up to 1 in. diameter and nominally 1 in. long. It provides temperatures up to 900 deg. C. and has a total output of 50 lb./hr., equivalent to 240 billets/hr.
