Ear‐to‐ground
Abstract
Eighty passengers flying into London (Heathrow) Airport on June 10 in a Hawker Siddeley Trident of British European Airways became the first passengers in the world to experience an Autoflare landing in scheduled airline service. The Air Registration Board had given approval of the Smiths Aviation Division Series 5 duplex automatic flight control system for Autoflare landings in the Trident on June 3.
