Abstract

Details of Electrical and Electronic Apparatus with Applications in the Maintenance and Operation of Aircraft, Missiles and Space Vehicles. The Royal Radar Establishment (R.R.E.), at Malvern, recently placed an order for a Marconi Myriad computer for use on advanced radar research projects. This was the first order for this revolutionary new desk‐size computer which uses microelectronic circuitry, developed by The Marconi Co., to provide far greater reliability than has been possible with previous machines. Myriad is a very fast, on‐line, real‐time computer, designed primarily for air traffic control and defence applications, although its high capacity and flexibility make it suitable for use in many other fields.
