Abstract

For over thirty years the Douglas DC‐3 Dakota aircraft has operated in large numbers throughout the world on short to medium ranges, in many instances under primitive conditions. The need for a successor to this aircraft has taxed the ingenuity of the world's aircraft designers for a considerable time.
