Abstract

Brief Particulars of Recently Introduced Materials likely to have Aircraft, Missile or Space Vehicle Applications. Ardrox 9 VF 1, a combined visible red and fluorescent dye penetrant process, is a sensitive new method of detecting defects open to the surface of metal and ceramics. Such defects include forging and welding faults, porosity and shrinkage in castings, heat treatment and welding cracks, and operational stress and fatigue failures. Ardrox 9 VF 1 may also be used for leak detection.
