Abstract

Details of Some Components Used for Subsidiary Services in Aircraft, Missiles and Space Vehicles. With such a proliferation of fasteners on the market, another new one can hardly be expected to make enormous impact. Nevertheless the new Circloc self‐locking nuts and setscrews should make a few designers sit up and think. Here is a departure from the usual run of specially made items because Circloc actually uses ordinary standard plain nuts — or setscrews — and without slotting or otherwise affecting their strength converts them into efficient inexpensive self‐lockers. By a special patented process a ribbon of blue nylon is permanently fused to the surface of the threads — but the lead threads are left clear to permit easy starting.
