Abstract

Equipment, Programmes, Techniques and Projects. Metal or ceramic specimens can be tensile tested at temperatures up to 1,000 deg. C. in an air or inert gas atmosphere with the aid of the latest furnace developed by Instron Ltd. of High Wycombe, Bucks. The unit also incorporates a fully averaging extensometer system. It is easily fitted to floor models in the Instron range of universal materials testing machines.
