Abstract

Equipment, Programmes, Techniques and Projects. Significant new work on small size, solid state data displays is being carried out at the Research Laboratories of The Marconi Co. on behalf of Marconi Radar Systems. Tiny slices of glass ceramic, no larger than a finger tip, each carry a matrix of gallium arsenide phosphide, light‐emitting diodes, which can be switched on to provide a pattern of brightly lit red dots, making up high contrast letters, numbers or symbols.
