Abstract

Hollow plastics balls known as Allplas, normally used to blanket the surface of heated liquids in open tanks to prevent heat and evaporation losses, now form the key to a simple marker system devised at Luton Airport to prevent damage to runway and taxiway lights when clearing snow.
