Installing the heater cable directly in the redesigned leading edge

Abstract

ONE OF THE AREAS of development between the prototype and pre‐series aircraft, is in the application of electrical ice protection to wing leading edges in front of the engine, and in the engine intake ramps. For use in these situations, Rosemount Engineering Co. manufacture and install miniature high‐power mineral insulated heater cables. Both continuously energised and individually pulsed heaters are used.
