Abstract

PRODUCTION VERSIONS of the A 300B European Airbus have been operating on Air France routes since May, 1974 and another of these aircraft is currently in use with Air Siam. Two short‐bodied prototypes were built and the second of these is in service suitably refurbished, with Trans‐European Airways for Hadj pilgrimage flights. The Air France aircraft are the B2 version and serve Paris as well as Nice, Marseille and Algiers. Baghdad is also reached by way of Beirut and Damascus. This airline has indicated its intention of having 18 of the type before 1980. Air Siam also has the B2 but has this aircraft on lease pending the arrival of the extended‐range B4 variant in 1975. Four B2's have been ordered by Transbrasil and the B4 is scheduled for delivery to Iberia, Lufthansa and SATA.
