Abstract

DECISION on a replacement for Royal Air Force training types that would provide a jet aircraft capable of the complete duty cycle awaited a basically simple design inherently able to fulfil a wide spectrum of handling and weaponry. In the late 1960's work to define an operational requirement that fitted these needs was carried out as part of a review of the whole structure of flying training.
