Abstract

The first public appearance of the Panavia Tornado multi‐role combat aircraft for the British, German and Italian forces emphasised the international collaborative aspect of the Hanover Aerospace Show. Although some UK companies showed a variety of products including those on the Tornado, other large firms did not appear or made a very ‘low‐profile’ presence felt. In general though, countries seemed eager to find joint venture partners and continue the useful work undertaken up to the present time. A Lufthansa A300 B2 Airbus and Germanair B4 were present for some of the Show, and on the Airbus Industrie stand, proposals for future versions were more numerous and more closely defined than at Le Bourget in 1975.
