Abstract

Design‐to‐cost (DTC), a new American design control method, was almost unheard of in Europe only a few years ago. Since 1976, Aerospatiale's Aircraft Division has set up the means needed to implement a method which is derived from design‐to‐cost and is intended for new civil aircraft programmes. The Aircraft Division calls it “Conception pour in Coüt Optimum” (CCO).
