Abstract
Aircraft maintenance is now claimed to be a crisis‐proof billion dollar business. More than 10,000 public transport aircraft are currently operated in the world by some 600 scheduled and charter airlines and Boeing estimates that in the next ten years an additional 6,000 planes, valued at more than 160 billion dollars, will be in operation.
