On‐board Cargo Operation System Reduces Airbus Fuel Consumption

Abstract

LOADING of pallets and containers in aircraft if governed by stringent regulations and it is essential that the aircraft's center‐of‐gravity limitations be observed. Optimal distribution of individual items of cargo in an aircraft's cargo compartments can help to reduce the trim forces acting on the tailplane, so substantially reducing drag and fuel consumption.
