Integrated Visual Inspection for 7 Axis EDM Machining Centre

Abstract

AMCHEM have developed a fundamentally new type of EDM machining centre incorporating a Visual Inspection System which examines partially repaired aero‐engine components. It identifies a set of EDM operations, which will vary with each part, and instructs the machining centre to carry these out. This automated flexible repair centre has just been shipped to a major North American aero‐engine company.
