Aircraft Hose Fittings Machined up to Four Times Faster
Abstract
BEFORE July 1987, the Aerospace Division of Aeroquip Ltd., Redditch, had only a few conventional metalcutting machines on the shop floor, and subcontracted out most of its hose end fitting manufacture. By October, the company had plunged straight into computer‐controlled machining in‐house using two advanced turning centres with driven tooling and endworking capability from Gildemeister UK Ltd., Luton.
