Abstract

Avid readers of peripherals may have noticed that BLCMP have been awarded a number of contracts recently with public library authorities. These include, apart from Gloucestershire (BLCMP's 50th member), Liverpool, Hereford and Worcester, and Birmingham (the last being a hybrid system interfacing with the DS circulation system). The take‐up of BLS, BLCMP's stand‐alone system, has previously been largely by the academic sector, so it is timely to give an account of a public library installation.
