Abstract
The Norwegian shared library system BIBSYS is presented with a sketch of BIBSYS' 25 years of history and a brief view of BIBSYS strategy. The importance of library co‐operation in creating and maintaining BIBSYS is emphasised. BIBSYS is now changing from a library system to an information system; the research documentation database is discussed as an example.
