Abstract

The article explains the concept of open source, and libraries increasing involvement in the movement. It discusses the work of the GNU Jointly Administered Knowledge Environment, gnujake, a tool for managing electronic resources, gnujake compiles information about online resources, what is available through each, and how that content relates to the content available from other resources. It can be seen as a ready reference tool for finding and distinguishing between electronic resources.
