BASF emphasis on research

Abstract

One of the first impressions that a visitor to BASF's giant chemical complex at Ludwigshafen, Germany, receives is the amount of effort that is given to research. As far as pigments, resins, dispersions, chemical coatings, specialist solvents and other products for the paint and printing inks industries are concerned, it is easy to see why BASF continues to increase its share, both nationally and world‐wide, of this extremely competitive market.
