Water as solvent in wood stains and lacquers

Abstract

A unique Swedish innovation was recently shown to the press by the southern Swedish firm Acroma Lack. It consists of a completely new surface‐finishing system for wooden furniture which is likely to have a big impact on the furniture manufacturing industry as it is water‐based. A water‐based system eliminates the dangers to the user associated with toxic solvents.
