Intensified competition between synthetic latex polymers forecast
Abstract
Sales of synthetic latex polymers reached over 3.0 billion dry lb valued at nearly $1.7 billion in 1979 according to a new survey by C. H. Kline & Co., marketing consultants of Fairfield, N.J., USA. Styrene‐butadiene, acrylic and polyvinyl acetate homopolymer latexes together accounted for 70% of the total pounds consumed and 66% of the dollar value, with vinyl‐acrylics, vinyl acetate‐ethylene, and 12 additional products accounting for the balance, as shown in Fig. 1.
