Varnish and laminates for printing

Abstract

To oversimplify the issue it could be said that laminates provide glossier surfaces than varnished ones, are relatively trouble free, but tend to add 50% to the cost. As in any oversimplification there are degrees of truth, and certainly from the printers' viewpoint, considerable skill and care is required in using both materials.
