Abstract

1.0 All varnishes in general contain organic solvents. Solvents evaporate at room temperature or at elevated temperature in baking ovens. These solvents may present fire hazards if adequate precautions are not taken. During baking of the varnished components, sufficient amount of air is required to be mixed with evaporated solvents and the solvent and air mixture exhausted so as to keep vapour‐to‐air mixture below the lower ignition limit for a particular solvent or solvents mixture.
