Abstract

Large‐capacity disks have long been used to handle the huge files needed for online databases and card catalogs. Experience demonstrates that as computer systems are used, over the years, needed storage file capacity grows and continues to grow. For that reason the ‘large‐capacity’ disks discussed in this article will be those capable of storing 200 Mb or more.
