future lubricants

Abstract

There is a pastime, or parlour game—or perhaps an intelligence test—in which the person enjoying the game—or test—calls out one word, while the victim responds with the first word which comes into his head. The object of this has escaped me but I feel certain that when the pundits of the oil world play this game between courses at their lunches, between lunches at their courses, or even between poises at their benches, and ask the question “Lubricant?”, the immediate response is “Petroleum” and the maximum reward is given or mark awarded.
