Abstract

The motor vehicle is one of the commonest sights on the highways of the world to day and its remarkable reliability is accepted so much as a matter of course that one is apt to overlook the important part that lubrication plays in keeping the wheels turning. It is true to say that this fine example of the engineer's art could not have reached its present stage of development if lubrication science had not kept abreast of engineering design.
