Abstract

The illustrations show a recent application of a Clayton Dewandre “Multipoint” automatic chassis lubricator employed for the lubrication of both vehicle chassis and trailer of a Scammell 8‐wheeled articulated lorry. It is necessary for a trailer of this type to be lubricated on a mileage basis, and the most convenient method of doing this is by means of a belt drive. Although it would be easily possible to arrange for the lubricator to be actuated by a pneumatic cylinder connected into the brake line of the vacuum pressure brake system, the infrequency of brake application might well prevent efficient and regular trailer (or chassis) lubrication.
