Abstract

BEARING lubrication of large and valuable machinery requires correct volume and pressure of oil at all times and these cannot be left to chance. Apart from the quality of the lubricant used, the responsibility for maintaining efficient running of the plant is in the hands of the machine attendant, who will report to the chief engineer. The effectiveness of a pressure fed lubricating oil system will depend upon the following:—
