Abstract

In our issue for July, 1956, we published details of the work carried out by the Fulmer Research Institute Ltd. on behalf of Intermit Ltd., on pressure drop across plane filters, as used in oil systems, with two areas of filter and at three values of kinematic viscosity. A recent extension to this work, which we publish here, concerns “cup” type filters. As previously, the work has been carried out by K. W. Mitchell, B.Sc. (Eng.), Wh.Sch., A.M.I.Mech.E., and G. W. Goodwin.
