Abstract

This report, covering 1955, has recently been published and brings to light details of the increasing use of detergent oils for the lubrication of stationary oil engines. The working costs and performances of 100 stations are included in this report comprising 49 electricity generating stations in Britain and 32 overseas, and 19 British Water pumping stations. The type and treatment of lubricating oil has been included in each report for the first time, under classifications, Straight Mineral, Heavy Duty or Anti‐Oxidant. Filtration is recorded as Streamline type filter, Centrifuged, or Settling Tank.
