Abstract

The lubrication system installed on the new Millspaugh machine at the Wolvercote Paper Mill, Oxford has been installed by Wakefield‐Dick Industrial Oils Ltd. The front and back bearings of the thirty drying cylinders, including the bearings of six felt roll drying cylinders are lubricated by four Wakefield ‘DP50’ mechanical lubricators. Each of these has 20 feeds and is driven by individual geared electric motors. Special outlet fittings are incorporated adjacent to each bearing in order to maintain a constant level of oil. Efficient oil filtering and water separation arrangements are another feature of the installation.
