TEST RIG FOR LARGE TURBINE BEARINGS

Abstract

BECAUSE THE TENDENCY IN THE DEVELOPMENT of steam turbines for the generation of electrical energy is toward ever larger units, the continued increase in output gives rise to greater demands on turbine and generator bearings, even to the point of forsaking conventional bearing designs and seeking new ones.
