Abstract

COMPLETED AT THE END OF 1956, the Mauvoisin hydro‐electric project in the Lower Valais, Switzerland, exploits the waters of the Dranse de Bagnes between Mauvoisin in the Val de Bagnes and Riddes in the Rhone Valley It is operated by the Mauvoisin Power Company, of Sion, Switzerland, and incorporates two stations at which interesting lubrication techniques are employed. The upper plant at Fionnay has three 60‐MVA generating sets and the lower one at Riddes has five 67‐MVA sets, the latter station being the largest in operation in Switzerland.
