Conventional turbine bearings operate at low eccentricity ratio and are consequently prone to induce vibration with frequency about half shaft speed. When used with its associated control valve, the Glacier Anti‐Whirl bearing runs with adequate eccentricity ratio to prevent whirl. Oil foaming is also reduced.
