LUBRICATION OF LARGE MACHINE TOOLS AT THE NEW BROWN, BOVERI & Co. WORKS IN SWITZERLAND

Abstract

LOOKING ahead into the not‐too‐distant future when electricity generating machines of the value of 500 MW can be expected, Brown, Boveri and Company, whose head office is at Baden, Switzerland, have recently taken into service a new works at Birr, about 15 km. from Baden, where it will be possible to build very large machines of this type. The shops so far completed represent only the first stage in a building scheme for an area totalling 420,000 m2 and provision has been made for future extensions.
