HOFFMANN BEARINGS FOR FRENCH ROLLING MILLS

Abstract

Hoffmanns have received an order for 180 bearings to re‐equip two Senszimir steel strip rolling mills in France, Compagnie des Forges de Chatillon Commentry & Neuves Maisons. This is the largest order yet placed with Hoffmanns for bearings of this type. The bearings are all the same design L5181, with overall diameter of 300 mm. (11.8 in.), bore 130 mm. (5.1 in.) and 172.6 mm. (6.797 in.) wide, and having three rows of rollers: sixty rollers—20 per row. Distances pieces containing oil lubrication ports separate the rows.
