Abstract

THE trend in rolling bearing engineering is towards higher speeds and greater reliability, thus the need for satisfactory lubrication has become an increasingly important issue. The large oil companies annually spend considerable sums of money on research to produce lubricants that will ensure satisfactory bearing operation under the most varied working conditions. The problem is not entirely solved by the development of a suitable lubricant however—it is also necessary to supply the lubricant in the correct quantity.
