A New Instrument for Automatic Pour Point Determination

Abstract

A NEW method for the accurate determination of the pour point of oils, and a new instrument incorporating this method has been evolved by De La Rue Frigistor Ltd., and is known as the De La Rue Autopour unit. The development programme was commenced in 1963 and a number of prototype units were evaluated at Esso Research Centre at Abingdon. The system incorporates a rotating disc and a patent has been issued in the name of Esso Research and Engineering. (Specification No. 1,089,286)
