Abstract

MOST brochures describing machine tools dismiss the lubrication system in a few words; if the system is automatic and foolproof there is no need to tell the prospective buyer more than this. In the description of Brown & Sharpe's new MINI‐16 Automatic Screw Machine, illustrated, it says that the automatic lubricating system has a reservoir of 3½pints and lubricates spindle bearings, slideways and mechanism throughout the machine by a positive displacement pump which operates whenever the spindle is running.
