Grafoil stops the gap

Abstract

THE leak‐free sealing of valves and pumps lasting several years, with packing life limited only by that of the equipment components, is the claim of the Union Carbide Corporation for their Grafoil products. In dry‐run conditions without lubrication and regardless of pressure, and temperature, Grafoil, free of abrasive particles, is self‐lubricating; it does not score valve stems, so that there is no stem corrosion within the packing area.
