Where the twain meet

Abstract

A BEHIND‐the‐scenes operation at Heathrow is that of ensuring constant availability of mobile ground servicing vehicles providing round‐the‐clock support for aircraft. To give an instance, it requires approximately 40 mobile ground vehicles to attend to the needs of a Boeing 747 Jumbo between touch‐down and subsequent take‐off.
