Abstract

THE world's biggest universal joint, weighing almost 150 tonnes, will shortly be positioned at the bottom of the North Sea, to support a 145‐metre high articulated cylindrical steel column at the top of which is a sophisticated unmanned control station for the North East Frigg gas field.
