Abstract

Getting oil from the sea bottom to the offshore rigs on the surface at its fluid best for transfer to land‐based refineries is potentially fraught with difficulties. Many more or less serious incidents between bottom and surface can affect the field's productivity. Oil companies are therefore constantly looking for new technical developments which will help them run as smooth an operation as possible.
