Research in the Department of Employment
Abstract
The Department of Employment needs no introduction to readers of Personnel Review. But it may well not be the first organization to come into their minds when they think of research into personnel and manpower questions. Over the last few years it has been developing a significant programme of research into these and other aspects of its responsibilities; and last year it produced for the first time an annual report which listed all its research activities in 1972–3 (DE Research 1972–3, HMSO, 1973, 36½p). The article briefly outlines the Department's research organization, and then gives an account of some recent research projects that may be of particular interest to readers of Personnel Review.
