DOS‐tips: Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?
Abstract
Unless you have a hardware clock on an accessory board and have set up an AUTO‐EXEC file to automatically set your PC's internal clock from the hardware clock, the first thing you must do each time you start or reboot your system is enter the current date and time. If you're feeling lazy, or you've lost your watch, you can press <RETURN> when DOS asks for the date and again when it asks for the time, and DOS will come right back with the familiar A> prompt. There is a problem with doing this, though.
