In Brief
Abstract
How management action cuts the accident toll Severe accidents were virtually elminated in one factory, and the total number of injuries fell by nearly half in another — because the company which owned them followed Factory Inspectorate recommendations which made management accountable for safety. Within 12 months eye injuries in one factory fell from an average of over 200 a year to fewer than 20.
