Modular blocks take the heat off furnace fuel costs

Abstract

Furnace users in three major industries and four different countries have assessed a ceramic‐fibre insulation technique known as modular block veneering, and they report fuel savings ranging from 15 to 41 per cent. Production throughputs in some cases doubled due to shorter firing‐cycles.
